*To say goodbye is to die a little.* [*Raymond Chandler*](http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1377.Raymond_Chandler?utm_medium=email&utm_source=quote_of_the_day) American novelist Raymond Chandler (born July 23, 1888) worked with director Alfred Hitchcock on the screenplay for Strangers on a Train. The collaboration did not go well. The two called each other names and refused to talk to each other, culminating in Hitchcock throwing Chandler’s drafts in the trash while holding his own nose in disgust.
