*Lies written in ink cannot disguise facts written in blood. [Lu Xun](http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7509399.Lu_Xun?utm_medium=email&utm_source=quote_of_the_day) Lu Xun was the pen name of Zhou Shuren (born September 25, 1881), who earned a reputation in his day as a leading Chinese author of 20th-century Chinese literature. His short story Diary of a Madman and novelette The True Story of Ah Q especially helped establish his literary career; these pieces criticized the old Confucian culture. Later he wrote satirical essays as a form of political protest. Today the Lu Xun Museum in Beijing sits on the site of his former home and contains a collection of his works.
